It was a similar spectacle on most channels with screens displaying content from the magazine, anchors commending the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and on-screen text heaping lavish praises on him. The article carries the text \u201ccontent from Uttar Pradesh\u201d on top. Advertorials are paid advertisements written in the style of an editorial. Moreover, unlike reports, the piece does not have an author byline.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-83789 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/01\/Time7.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"589\" height=\"497\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/01\/Time7.png 589w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/01\/Time7-300x253.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 589px) 100vw, 589px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The fact that it is an advertorial explains why the article cannot be found on Time magazine\u2019s website and there is no online link for it. A <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Economicism\/status\/1345962621523034112?s=20\">Twitter user<\/a> who got printed copy of the magazine pointed out that it is not available in the international and American editions.<\/p>\n<p>Newslaundry has traced the content to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newslaundry.com\/2021\/01\/06\/adityanaths-press-release-is-an-ad-in-time-but-a-report-in-indian-media\">media release by the UP<\/a> government that was sent to journalists in early December. It is noteworthy that the tweet by CM Yogi Adityanath&#8217;s Office posted on December 15 did not make an attempt to clarify that the TIME piece is not an article but an advertorial provided by the UP government.<\/p>\n<p>The channels that ran the news seem oblivious of the fact that TIME magazine has been critical of CM Adityanath. Ironically, Zee News has forgotten that a few months ago it did a \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/zeenews.india.com\/video\/india\/taal-thok-ke-time-magazines-anti-india-campaign-2311839.html\">Taal Thok Ke<\/a>\u2019 program on TIME Magazine\u2019s \u2018Anti India Campaign\u2019. In an article by TIME on India\u2019s preparedness to handle COVID, CM Adityanath featured in the government-sponsored misinformation subsection. The article said that \u201celected officials from Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s Bharatiya Janata Party have promoted unproven therapies\u201d and went on to state, \u201cChief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath suggested that COVID-19 and other diseases could be overcome with the help of Yoga\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>News18 which presented UP government&#8217;s ad as a &#8216;report&#8217; in both print and broadcast, transformed its <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/O6voA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hindi story<\/a> into a fact-check after the organisation was called out for publishing false news.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-83807 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/01\/fddc6d03-bce2-447e-8e70-5eb93f85a77a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"943\" height=\"719\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/01\/fddc6d03-bce2-447e-8e70-5eb93f85a77a.jpg 943w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/01\/fddc6d03-bce2-447e-8e70-5eb93f85a77a-300x229.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/01\/fddc6d03-bce2-447e-8e70-5eb93f85a77a-768x586.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 943px) 100vw, 943px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sponsored content of this nature can be deceptive and difficult for readers to distinguish from real content.
