\/><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Old, unrelated images juxtaposed to promote false claim<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Image 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When Alt News performed a reverse image search of the first image, we were taken to a YouTube channel called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UC2FWOdKbyTECCwodJX4Adpw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Arputhar Yesu Tv<\/a>. The channel had uploaded a video in 2018 titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/S7AG0VWVcMg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Laborer&#8217;s day Christian Tamil Sermon Father Jegath Kasper Speech on Workers Day 30-04-2018<\/a>\u201d. Thus, the man has been identified as Father Jegath Gaspar Raj.<\/p>\n<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-86302 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/02\/word-image-1-2.jpg\" width=\"654\" height=\"433\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/02\/word-image-1-2.jpg 1199w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/02\/word-image-1-2-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/02\/word-image-1-2-1024x679.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/02\/word-image-1-2-768x509.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 654px) 100vw, 654px\" \/><\/h4>\n<p>At <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/S7AG0VWVcMg?t=572\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">9:32 minutes<\/a>, he can be spotted in the same position as the viral image.<\/p>\n<p>Father Jegath Gaspar Raj is the founder of non-profit organisation Tamil Maiyam. In 2010, his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/tamil-nadu\/Tamil-Maiyam-unfairly-targeted-Gaspar\/article15595399.ece\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">office was searched<\/a> by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as part of its probe into the 2G spectrum scam. He claimed that Tamil Maiyam was &#8220;unfairly targetted&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Image 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We again performed a reverse image search for the second image which led us to another YouTube channel called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCT-LNjUa9jIYDVF74cJYsMg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ARRA TV<\/a>\u201d that had uploaded a <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/sAh2ilnkYXM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">video of Fr Gaspar<\/a> in 2017, preaching at a religious event.<\/p>\n<p>[youtube https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=sAh2ilnkYXM]<\/p>\n<p>Alt News contacted Fr Gaspar who said that the video is a few years old. &#8220;Tamil Nadu has progressive religious harmony. I was invited to an event where I spoked about common features between different religions,&#8221; he said, adding that he promotes inter-religious harmony.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Image 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the third image, we found an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aninews.in\/news\/national\/general-news\/pastors-manhandled-tamil-maiya-organisation-blames-rss-for-atrocities-against-christian-community201804281649010001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a> by ANI published on April 28, 2018. According to the article, after two pastors were manhandled in Tamil Nadu\u2019s Kanyakumari, Fr Gaspar of Tamil Maiya had blamed the RSS for atrocities against the Christian community. The file image of the article is the same as the one viral on social media.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-86364 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/02\/6ac8efbf-5577-47c0-b71d-4efb86dc3151.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"638\" height=\"669\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/02\/6ac8efbf-5577-47c0-b71d-4efb86dc3151.jpg 638w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/02\/6ac8efbf-5577-47c0-b71d-4efb86dc3151-286x300.jpg 286w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 638px) 100vw, 638px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Times of India had also posted a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tlRMSpIwcsA&amp;feature=youtu.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">video report<\/a> on the incident. It said that Tamil Maiya held protests inside Arulmigu Mutharamman Temple in Tamil Nadu&#8217;s Kanyakumari. Along with agitating against the harassment of Christian pastors allegedly by the RSS, it also raised concerns over the Cauvery water issue.<\/p>\n<p>Fr Gaspar told Alt News that he hasn&#8217;t been involved in any farmers&#8217; protests.
