His tweet gained over 1,000 retweets.<\/p>\n<p>The viral image has been shared by multiple Facebook users. Additionally, the claim has been shared in Bengali and Tamil on Facebook pages &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.vn\/C6KkH\">\u09b6\u09cd\u09b0\u09ae\u099c\u09c0\u09ac\u09c0 &#8211; The Labour<\/a>&#8216; and &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.vn\/hD3X7\">Tamil Nationalism &#8211; \u0ba4\u0bae\u0bbf\u0bb4\u0bcd \u0ba4\u0bc7\u0b9a\u0bbf\u0baf\u0bae\u0bcd<\/a>&#8216;. Ltd. states that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ioagpl.com\/about\/about_ioagpl\">IOAG<\/a>\u00a0is a joint venture private company. The joint venture is between Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC) \u2013 a Maharatna Company of Government of India \u2013 and Adani Gas Ltd. (AGL), a gas distribution company and part of the Adani Group.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstpost.com\/business\/ioc-adani-gas-to-invest-rs-9600-cr-in-infrastructure-for-retailing-cng-piped-natural-gas-in-10-cities-7074751.html\">Firstpost<\/a> reported that the two firms had incorporated a 50:50 joint venture company in 2013 for implementation of city gas distribution (CGD) projects across the country. The union government was led by the Congress in 2013 and the BJP came to power only a year later.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple joint ventures are listed on the website of Indian Oil, including IOAG. Under the natural gas section, the <a href=\"https:\/\/iocl.com\/Products\/NaturalGas.aspx\">website states<\/a> that city gas distribution projects are being implemented in Chandigarh, Allahabad, Panipat, Ernakulam, Daman, Udhamsingh Nagar and Dharwad through a joint venture with M\/s. Adani Gas Ltd. (M\/s. The image exhibited is of IndianOil-Adani Gas Pvt. Ltd. which is a joint venture company of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IndianOilcl?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@IndianOilcl<\/a> and Adani Gas Ltd. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/CYwp0AdDDd\">pic.twitter.com\/CYwp0AdDDd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; PIB Fact Check (@PIBFactCheck) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PIBFactCheck\/status\/1361987382510198784?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 17, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Thus, several Congress leaders made the false claim that the Adani Group has taken over Indian Oil.\u00a0Two months ago <a style=\"background-color: #ffffff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/locomotive-with-fortune-atta-ad-shared-as-adani-has-taken-over-indian-railways\/\">Alt News debunked<\/a> the claim that Indian Railways has been \u2018sold\u2019 to Adani.
