With a capacity of 1.3 lakh spectators, it has now become the world&#8217;s largest cricket stadium. Following this, a picture of a statue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi installed at a roundabout has gone viral on Facebook and Twitter. The photo is being shared with captions like, &#8220;What&#8217;s happening is worthy of condemnation. It&#8217;s not the tradition in our country to name intersections, stadiums, and hospitals after people that are still alive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>User Lakhan Kashyap Baliyaan shared this picture on the Facebook group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/932932410529013\/permalink\/1037863130035940\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u0905\u0902\u0927\u092d\u0915\u094d\u0924 \u0927\u0941\u0932\u093e\u0908 \u0915\u0947\u0902\u0926\u094d\u0930<\/a>. This led us to a photo of the fountain on a website called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pakistanpoint.com\/en\/2018-09-25\/pic-6010.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pakistanpoint.com<\/a>. In place of a Modi statue, a sculpture of a kettle and teacup form the fountain here. In the image results, we found a picture identical to the statue seen in the viral image. This is a marble statue <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiamart.com\/proddetail\/marble-narendra-modi-statue-21118166291.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">for sale on the e-commerce website IndiaMart<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-87497 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/03\/word-image-3.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"810\" height=\"386\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/03\/word-image-3.jpeg 810w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/03\/word-image-3-300x143.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/03\/word-image-3-768x366.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Narendra Modi Chowk\u2019 sign<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the viral photo, a board behind the fountain reads &#8216;Narendra Modi Chowk&#8217;. A keyword search of related terms led us to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndtv.com\/india-news\/darbhanga-killing-not-over-naming-of-square-after-pm-modi-police-chief-1825938\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an NDTV story<\/a> about an incident in Bihar&#8217;s Darbhanga, where a BJP worker&#8217;s father was killed. NDTV reported that the victim&#8217;s family alleged that their family was attacked after facing opposition for renaming a town square to Narendra Modi Chowk. Meanwhile, the police claimed that the row was sparked by a property dispute and it had nothing to do with the name change.<\/p>\n<p>BJP leader <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/girirajsinghbjp\/status\/975008619333742593\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Giriraj Singh also tweeted<\/a> the image.
