According to the news outlet, the police recovered 66 fake EVMs from a housing board flat in Beawar, Ajmer. The fake machines had independent candidate Surendra Goyal\u2019s name and election symbol, who was contesting from Jaitaran.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-89092 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/03\/word-image-81.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"514\" height=\"824\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/03\/word-image-81.jpeg 514w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/03\/word-image-81-187x300.jpeg 187w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 514px) 100vw, 514px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Surendra Goyal was a member of the BJP who resigned from the party after he was not given a ticket in the 2018 assembly elections. Following this, he <a href=\"https:\/\/navbharattimes.indiatimes.com\/elections\/assembly-elections\/rajasthan\/news\/rajasthan-minister-surendra-goyal-quits-bjp-many-mla-threaten-to-rebel\/articleshow\/66600268.cms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">filed for nomination from Jaitaran as an independent candidate<\/a>. This is also mentioned in the viral newspaper clipping however, its headline misleadingly suggests that the candidate is still with the BJP.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bhaskar.com\/rajasthan\/pali\/news\/police-raids-mike-goyal39s-promotional-material-bill-will-be-released-on-the-notice-of-evm-machines-in-beaery39s-house-043546-3342163.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dainik Bhaskar<\/a> had also reported on the raid three years ago.<\/p>\n<p>A clipping of an old news story about 66 fake EVMs recovered from Beawar was falsely linked to the ongoing West Bengal assembly elections.
