The above claim has been made against the backdrop of tweets by several Bollywood celebrities following international pop icon Rihanna’s tweet on farmers’ protest. On February 2, Rihanna tweeted<\/a> a CNN report on internet shutdown in areas where farmers are protesting. The following day, multiple BJP office bearers, politicians, celebrities and right-wing influencers tweeted with the hashtag #IndiaAgainstPropaganda. Devgn<\/a> was one of them. On March 2, Maharashtra police arrested<\/a> a person for stopping his car over his tweet and demanding to know why the actor had not spoken in support of the protests.<\/p>\n

The video has been shared on Facebook<\/a> as well. It received over 8,500 likes and close to 3,000 shares from the account of one Ravinder Kajal.<\/p>\n

Fact-check<\/h4>\n

According to media reports<\/a>, the viral video is indeed from New Delhi’s Aerocity. However, it has nothing to do with Ajay Devgn.<\/p>\n

Delhi police told Hindustan Times<\/a> that the control room was informed about a \u201cquarrel between two groups\u201d at World Mark-1, Aerocity, around 2.30 am on March 26. The caller told police that the men involved in the incident were visibly drunk and abusing each other. As per the report, the two groups clashed after one of them accidentally hit the other’s car in the parking lot.<\/p>\n

Deputy commissioner of police (IGIA) Rajeev Ranjan said, \u201cA video of the incident showed that no Covid-19 safety norms were followed. After detailed verification, both Taranjeet Singh and Naveen Kumar were identified. They have been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 160 (for committing affray), 270 (for their act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 188 (for disobeying public order). They have both been arrested.\u201d<\/p>\n
