In the picture, Sonia Gandhi is sitting opposite PM Sheikh Hasina. Several social media users are sharing the photograph claiming that it was taken during an official visit of Manmohan Singh to Bangladesh. Sonia Gandhi took the chair which is traditionally reserved for the Prime Minister, they claimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce upon a time Sonia Gandhi once took Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on a tour of Bangladesh!\u201d wrote a Facebook user sarcastically. But he was taken along by Sonia ji\u201d. Prime Minister Hasina was on an official four-day visit to India. She met PM Modi the day before on October 5, as reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/prime-minister-narendra-modi-meets-bangladesh-prime-minister-sheikh-hasina\/article29602809.ece\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Hindu<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outlookindia.com\/photos\/people\/sheikh-hasina\/12147?photo-206621\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Outlook India<\/a> had uploaded the picture currently viral and credited Atul Yadav of the Press Trust of India (PTI). The caption beneath the photo states that the meeting took place at Hyderabad House in Delhi.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-89407 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-01-at-11.39.07-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"718\" height=\"698\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-01-at-11.39.07-PM.jpg 718w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-01-at-11.39.07-PM-300x292.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 718px) 100vw, 718px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Video footage of the meeting can be found on ANI\u2019s Youtube channel<\/p>\n<p>[youtube https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=68YXxAg4zfE]<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/india-news\/sheikh-hasina-meets-congress-leaders-invites-sonia-gandhi-to-bangladesh\/story-4iC4ctMTFUtbBlLfiiQJ0H.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hindustan Times<\/a>, the Congress party stated that the meeting had taken place due to a \u201cspecial bond of friendship\u201d between the Awami League and the Congress party.<\/p>\n<p>The claims made by social media users are false. Dr Manmohan Singh was not the Prime Minister when the meeting took place in October 2019. He was present in the meeting in the capacity of a senior Congress leader.<\/p>\n<p>Ex-PM Dr Singh has been targeted with misinformation in the past as well.
