In the backdrop of India’s west coast region witnessing the devastation of Cyclone Tauktae, several social media users have posted a clip of concrete falling on parked cars during a storm and torrential outpour. It has been claimed this is a recent video from Mumbai’s Trident Hotel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

FACT-CHECK: OLD VIDEO FROM SAUDI ARABIA<\/h4>\n

Alt News analysed the viral video and noticed that the time stamp on the CCTV footage is from July 30, 2020.<\/p>\n

A reverse-image search of the video’s keyframes threw up several Arabic posts. This led us to search for ‘car storm video’ in Arabic (\u0641\u064a\u062f\u064a\u0648 \u0633\u064a\u0627\u0631\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0639\u0627\u0635\u0641\u0629) on Google, restricting the results between July 2020 and August 2020. We were redirected to an August 1, 2020 report by RT Arabic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As per the article, the incident took place in Saudi Arabia’s Medina. The video shows a section of a house falling on cars due to a storm. The article carries a higher resolution version of the viral video uploaded by a YouTuber on July 31.<\/p>\n
