Verma had gone to the collectorate to pacify women workers who had come to file a complaint about the theft of ration. However, the angry women thrashed the leader, accusing him of extortion. They alleged that he extorted money from ration shop owners by threatening them using another minister&#8217;s name.<\/p>\n<p>[youtube https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=D0WN5ir_bEs]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/News18India\/status\/1003946059821867009\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">News18<\/a> had also posted a tweet about the incident.<\/p>\n<p>On June 5, 2018, <a href=\"https:\/\/voicehindi.com\/uttar-pradesh\/amroha-bjp-leader-beaten-by-sandals-and-boots\/25038\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8216;The Voice Hindi News&#8217;<\/a> also carried a story quoting the women as saying, \u201cDespite having three ration shops in the village, the villagers are neither getting food grains nor kerosene. And the local ration dealers are openly black marketing these goods.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is noteworthy that Madan Kumar Verma is not listed as a BJP MLA on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myneta.info\/search_myneta.php?q=madan+verma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">My Neta<\/a>. Verma&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/madanamrohabjp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter profile<\/a> reads, &#8220;Chairman Palola Cooperative Society, Amroha&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ndtv.in\/elections\/uttar-pradesh\/amroha-mla-results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mehboob Ali of the Samajwadi Party<\/a> is the MLA representing Amroha in Uttar Pradesh.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, photos from 2018 that show BJP leader Madan Verma being thrashed by the party&#8217;s female workers at the collectorate office in Amroha are being falsely shared with the claim that a BJP MLA was recently beaten by women.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Photos of a man wearing a saffron kurta are viral on social media.
