The volunteers at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be provided with a pre-paid travel card worth 1000\/- Yen for day-to-day travel to the venue.<\/p>\n<p>2. All volunteers are responsible for arranging and paying for any accommodation that they may require.<\/p>\n<p>3. The Olympics association will not issue any documents or certificates to volunteers once the volunteer activity is complete.<\/p>\n<p>4. The Olympics website also has a <a href=\"https:\/\/olympics.com\/tokyo-2020\/en\/games\/volunteer-support\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">list of items<\/a> that would be provided to the volunteers, the list does not mention any medal.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-97287 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/06\/volunteers-FAQ.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1176\" height=\"886\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/06\/volunteers-FAQ.png 1176w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/06\/volunteers-FAQ-300x226.png 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/06\/volunteers-FAQ-1024x771.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/06\/volunteers-FAQ-768x579.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1176px) 100vw, 1176px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to an article by the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/90e046f5f00847b6b1c78e942626b2a4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Associated Press<\/a> published in 2019, Olympics volunteers are not paid for their work, they pay for their own lodging and transportation to the host city, they get meals on the days they work, some training, and uniforms to treasure. In Tokyo, they will get up to 1,000 Yen daily to get to work on the city\u2019s vast train system and the Tokyo organisers will provide some insurance. We then changed the keyword to &#8216;Tokyo2020&#8217; and found the image on the American e-commerce website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebay.com\/itm\/Olympic-Tokyo2020-pin-volunteer-languages-benevole-volontair-pin-\/264753123054\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">e-bay<\/a> where it has been identified as a &#8220;pin&#8221;. It is being sold for US$ 1.50 which is approximately Rs 111.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-97321 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/06\/1c0372a4-85e1-4c84-a876-3f825c38ab5d.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"864\" height=\"735\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/06\/1c0372a4-85e1-4c84-a876-3f825c38ab5d.jpg 864w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/06\/1c0372a4-85e1-4c84-a876-3f825c38ab5d-300x255.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/06\/1c0372a4-85e1-4c84-a876-3f825c38ab5d-768x653.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 864px) 100vw, 864px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The image of the pin was also shared by Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president Dr Narinder Dhruv Batra on his Facebook page and later deleted. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiatoday.in\/fact-check\/story\/fact-check-indian-olympic-chief-hits-a-penalty-flashes-fake-olympic-medal-1820483-2021-06-28\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr Batra told India Today<\/a> that he was not aware of the source of the photograph but shared it on his Facebook account because the person who forwarded it to him is &#8220;quite responsible&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>A pin available on an e-commerce website was shared by several people as a &#8216;proud&#8217; moment for India because &#8216;swayamsevak&#8217; features on Tokyo Olympic medal to be given to volunteers.
