Against this backdrop, an image is being circulated widely on social media of a group of protestors on the street with posters. The posters read, \u201cBahujan Kranti Morcha\u201d and \u201cBrahmins are foreigners, they have ACs in their homes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/ofDi7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sharing the image<\/a>, Twitter user Jenish Patel wrote, \u201cToday, Mayawati\u2019s party in UP is hosting a gathering of Brahmins. The daily carried a photo of the demonstration featuring a poster with the slogan, &#8220;Brahmins are foreigners, their DNA is Eurasian.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-99730 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/08\/word-image-2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"810\" height=\"634\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/08\/word-image-2.jpeg 810w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/08\/word-image-2-300x235.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.altnews.in\/english-clone-2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/08\/word-image-2-768x601.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It is noteworthy that January 1, 2018, marked 200 years since the war between Peshwa Bajirao and the British in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/hindi\/india-50962874\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bhima Koregaon<\/a>. Every year on this day, a large number of people from the Dalit community visit Bhima Koregaon to pay homage to the Dalits who were martyred while fighting in the Peshwa army in 1818. On January 1, 2018, amid the annual gathering of large numbers of people from the Dalit community, violence broke out which led to one death.<\/p>\n<p>This claim about the Brahmin community&#8217;s foreign origins has been made on the basis of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiatoday.in\/magazine\/science-and-technology\/story\/20010730-controversial-study-says-upper-caste-indians-are-of-european-descent-lower-castes-of-asians-773932-2001-07-30\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2001 study<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/vidrohikapil.wordpress.com\/2017\/10\/05\/the-times-of-india-upper-caste-indian-male-more-foreigner-says-study\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Times of India<\/a> also published a report on the study. It states that the DNA of the upper castes in India resembles that of Europeans. The word &#8216;\u092f\u0942\u0930\u0947\u0936\u0940&#8217; means people who are associated with Europe and Asia, i.e. Eurasians. On this basis, the DNA of the Brahmin community has been called Eurasian. In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aajtak.in\/fact-check\/story\/fact-check-viral-post-social-media-story-of-this-photo-dalit-face-hits-afwa-ntc-1299292-2021-07-28\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fact-check report by Aaj Tak<\/a>, a Bahujan Samaj Morcha worker also mentioned the same.<\/p>\n<p>Numerous Dalit organisations protested against the violence that broke out at Bhima Koregaon in 2018.
