Morphed photo shows Arvind Kejriwal’s gigantic photo on Gandhi Jayanti ad

Jayman Sharma, General Secretary of Gujarat Pradesh Youth Congress, shared a photo on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti carrying a quote by Gandhi with a blown-up image of Arvind Kejriwal. A small picture of Mahatma Gandhi appears at the bottom of the page. Taking a jibe at the Delhi CM, Sharma wrote, “Happy Kejriwal Jayanti – MK Gandhi.”

Several others also shared this picture on Twitter mocking the Delhi chief minister.

Fact-check

A user named Siddharth shared the original photo of the newspaper clipping from October 2. The newspaper contains a large photo of Mahatma Gandhi with a small picture of Arvind Kejriwal in the bottom corner.

The ad appeared on the fifth page of Dainik Jagran’s Delhi edition. A side-by-side comparison of the original and the edited photo is given below. The photographs of Arvind Kejriwal and Mahatma Gandhi have been swapped in the viral image.

Furthermore, the Aam Aadmi Party also took to Twitter to clarify that the image was fake.
