The official handle of the Congress party tweeted a video on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) relationship with China, alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been ‘cosying’ up with the country. The video has now been taken down. “Maintaining a friendship with China, which has occupied Indian territory, and giving it a clean chit, doesn’t this deceive Mother India?” the tweet read. The video carried several pictures of PM Modi with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The photo below was also a part of the video.

Himachal Pradesh Congress Sevadal and Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee Minority Department also shared the video. The photograph in question can be seen at 42 seconds.

India and China’s diplomatic relationship took a blow after 20 Indian soldiers were martyred in a face-off in Galway valley on June 15. Chinese soldiers had reportedly infiltrated Indian territory which was refuted by New Delhi.

Old photo of PM Modi with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe

The image was found in the archives of the Associated Press. It was shot by photographer Shizuo Kambayashi on September 1, 2014, when PM Modi met his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe during a signing ceremony at Akasaka State Guesthouse in Tokyo. “Japan and India agreed Monday to step up their economic and security cooperation as Modi won pledges of support for his effort to revitalize the lagging Indian economy,” read its description.

In the past few days, Congress or its members were also found sharing misinformation to target Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. A video of a water-logged bus from Jaipur and an old clip of a couple swimming inside their flooded house in Prayagraj were promoted as Delhi.
