A video that allegedly shows a woman kidnapping a boy has been shared on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Passers-by stop the woman dragging the boy who claims that her sister was also taken away. The video flashes a disclaimer for a split second, warning people of child kidnappers.

Twitter users @chotubana007 and @P39467125Pandey shared the video and warned people to take care of their children at parks. It gained over 5,000 views.

Twitter user @UshaPanwar5 posted this video with an anti-Muslim claim. Some social media users (1, 2) have also claimed that the woman is a “Jihadi”, a derogatory term used for Muslims.

Alt News has received several requests to fact-check the video on our WhatsApp helpline number (+91 76000 11160).

At the 7-second mark, we see a disclaimer that states the video is for “entertainment purposes”.

A staged video was, therefore, shared on social media with a message claiming children are being kidnapped from parks. Some users also added a false anti-Muslim spin. The reader should note that in the past, Alt News has debunked several such staged videos and child kidnapping claims on social media.
