A photograph of CPI Begusarai candidate Kanhaiya Kumar has been circulated on social media with Kumar purportedly campaigning behind a poster of 2001 Parliamentary attack convict, Afzal Guru.

A few Twitter users have shared the image, criticising Kumar.

Photoshopped

The image in circulation has been lifted from the CPI candidate’s election campaign rally in Begusarai. In the original photograph, Kumar is not standing behind a portrait of Afzal Guru. A video of the rally, uploaded on Youtube, shows him standing behind the symbol of Communist Party of India.

As evident from the collage below, the image on the right represents Kumar’s rally, and CPI’s poster on the vehicle was photoshopped with an image of Afzal Guru.

Recently, Kanhaiya Kumar was also targeted using a video shared with a false narrative and a set of images posted in a misleading manner.
