A video of a man torturing a baby by slapping and throwing around the infant is viral on social media with the claim that the man is a teacher at Delhi Public School, Rajbagh and his name is Ahmad Ansari. Alt News is refraining from uploading the video in this article because of its disturbing imagery.
Multiple individual users have tweeted the video and said that they received it on WhatsApp. The full text of the accompanying message is as follows – “आप के whatsapp पे जितने भी नंबर एवं ग्रुप हैं एक भी छूटने नही चाहिए, ये वीडियो सबको भेजिए ये वलसाड के DPS SCHOOL Rajbag का टीचर शकील अहमद अंसारी है इसको इतना शेयर करो की ये टीचर और स्कूल दोनों बंद हो जाए । वीडियो वायरल होने से काफी फ़र्क पड़ता है ओर कार्यवाही होती है जिसे दया न (Do not leave any WhatsApp contacts and groups. Send this video to everyone. This is a teacher of Valsad’s DPS School Rajbag, Ahmad Ansari. Share this video so much that this teacher and school are both closed down.)“
Alt News has also received a verification request for the video on its official mobile application.
The same video has also been shared without any context. Twitter user Santosh Shrivastava shared the video with the caption, “इस कुत्ते को जरा फेमस कर दो मित्रो जिससे इस आदमखोर कुत्ते का भी पेट हल्का हो जाए!) A loose translation of his message implies that this man should be given such a punishment that he remembers for a lifetime.
Another user has tagged UP police in the video.
The clip is also floating on Facebook with the caption, “इस मोटे की वीडियो को इतना फैलाओ यह पकड़ा जाए (Spread this fatso’s video so much that he is caught.)”
Another video shared to claim that the man was caught
Several users have shared a clip of a man being brutally trashed to claim that he is the same person who was torturing the baby. This clip was used to suggest that the perpetrator was caught.
Another video of the same incident was uploaded by a few users.
Dancer Nora Fatehi had also shared screenshots from both the videos – of a man torturing a baby and the one where a man is getting beaten up – with the claim that the clips represent the same person. She also alleged that the incident took place in Saudi Arabia.
Two different incidents
A keyword search on Google revealed that the video of a man slapping and beating a baby is from Saudi Arabia and the man was arrested by the police. According to The New Arab, “The man, identified as Yousif Alqutai – a Palestinian resident of Saudi Arabia – was filmed beating his daughter in an attempt to force the baby to stand up despite her tender age.”
“Alqutai later appeared on social media to release a statement with his baby daughter, claiming the video was filmed “a long time ago” and pleading for forgiveness…Alqutai then went on to blame his wife for his acts of abuse, claiming she left him with their four children, which caused him to break down,” the report further said.
A reverse-search of a frame from the second video on Yandex took us to the same clip uploaded on bitchute.com in 2018. According to the website, a man was beaten by a cartel after his wife complained of domestic violence.
A comparison of the facial features of the men in both the videos further establishes they are different people. The image posted below is being used to claim that they are the same person. But the image itself makes it evident that they are not – the man on the top exhibits male pattern baldness to a greater degree than the one on the bottom.
In conclusion, a video from Saudi Arabia of a father torturing his baby girl was shared on social media as a teacher from DPS, Rajbagh assaulting an infant. It is noteworthy that the viral message claims that DPS, Rajbagh is in Valsad. However, this too is incorrect as Valsad is a district in Gujarat and Rajbagh is in Srinagar, J&K. Earlier, a video from Egypt of a man beating children was also circulated in the name of DPS, Rajbagh.
