A photo of Rahul Gandhi is being widely shared on social media. In the picture, he is apparently seen greeting Alexander Soros, son of American investor George Soros, and his partner Huma Abedin on their wedding.

The caption accompanying the viral image reads, “For the last four days, everyone was worried about whoch foreign country Rahul Gandhi had travelled to. No one knew his whereabouts. Now see this highly condemnable and extremely shameful act by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. He attended the wedding of the son of India’s biggest enemy George Soros. Although friendship with the enemies of our country is his profession. Foolish Hindus who vote for Congress will never understand this.”

A verified X user named Naveen Chauhan posted a collage of some pictures of Alex Soros’ wedding, which also contained the picture in question, with the same viral message.

Fact Check

First, we noticed that the hands and fingers of the three individuals seen in the photo were deformed and unrealistic, which is an error typical of AI-generated images. We have indicated these in the picture provided below. The viral image also features a watermark of the artificial intelligence platform Grok in the bottom right corner.

Grok is the AI chatbot of X. Images created by Grok have the same symbol as the one seen in the viral image.

This confirms that the viral image is not real, but has been created with the help of AI chatbot Grok. Alt News could not find the picture of Rahul Gandhi anywhere in the collection of images from Alex Soros’ wedding available online. (Link 1,Link 2) Moreover, there is no official confirmation of Rahul Gandhi having attended Soros’ wedding.

Vogue magazine published a compilation of Huma Abedin and Alexander Soros’ wedding photos which included 83 images from their wedding ceremony. None of these photos include Rahul Gandhi. Moreover, Huma wore two different dresses at the ceremony, but neither of these match the dress she is seen wearing in the viral photo.
