Fact Check

Alt News performed a keyword search using Bengali keywords related to the video, which led us to a March 31, 2025 report in the Bangladeshi newspaper Desh Rupantor. The report states that a man attacked his cousin with an axe due to a land dispute in Chandaiya village in Ward 6 of Kaliganj. According to the report, on March 30, 2025, Ramcharan and his son Jhantu Das attacked Narayan, his wife Giribala and his brother Haradhan Chandra Das with an axe. Four people were reportedly injured in the feud.

We also came across a Facebook post by the Bangladesh Police on the incident, in which the names of the accused and the victims were the same as in the above news article . At the end of the post, the police stated that the incident was being given a fake communal colour.

Bangladeshi fact-checker Shohanur Rahman also tweeted about this matter and said that the accused and the victim in the incident were all Hindus.

To sum up, a fight among members of a Hindu family in Bangladesh over a land dispute was wrongly termed by Indian Right-wing social media users as an attack on minority Hindus by the Muslim community in Bangladesh.
