Fact-check

In the top right corner of the video, the acronym ‘FT’ can be spotted.

Alt News performed a keyword search on YouTube and found a video posted by Fire TV on July 27, 2021. This is a longer version of the viral clip. In the beginning of the footage, at the 0:22 mark, the woman tells the interviewer that her name is Ramshree. Further, at the 2:35 mark, she describes herself as a Kurmi, which is a Hindu caste. The Kurmi community has a large population in Uttar Pradesh.

To sum it up, a video of a woman saying she has 18 children was shared on social media with a false communal angle. False claims suggested the woman’s name is ‘Razia’. Tasteless comments called her a ‘Jihadan’.
