A 31-second clip featuring jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi being escorted by police is viral with the text, “Lawrence Bishnoi got bail”. Social media users, many of whom are vocal BJP supporters, have shared this clip claiming Bishnoi has got bail.
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been behind bars since 2014 and faces multiple criminal charges, including several high-profile murders, including that of Punjabi singer-rapper Sidhu Moosewala and Mumbai political leader Baba Siddique. He was moved to Gujarat’s Sabarmati jail on August 28, 2023, and some reports have alleged that he continues to operate from his prison cell. More recently, men linked to Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother fired shots at Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s house in Mumbai.
X user @JaipurDialogues posted the above-mentioned clip on November 26. At the time of this report being written, the post has gained over 136,000 views and has been reposted over 1,100 times. (Archive)

Several other users posted the viral clip claiming that the gangster has received bail. Below are a few instances.
Fact Check
We noticed that the viral clip included the name of a news channel and location on the top right and left corners, respectively. The location said, “Fazilka”, which is a district in Punjab. However, Lawrence Bishnoi has been placed in Gujarat’s Sabarmati jail since 2023. We did not find any recent news reports which mention him being in a Punjab jail or being taken to Punjab for any judicial process.
This raised doubts regarding the authenticity of the video.
When we looked for the original video by running a relevant keyword search on YouTube, we were led to a longer video posted by the channel LBG dj song on March 2, 2020. The video title said: “Lawrence Bishnoi latest video from fazilka peshi 2020”. Here, Bishnoi can be seen in the court premises being escorted by the Punjab police, and the part of the video which is now viral begins at the 1:48-minute mark. This makes it clear that the video is over five-year old.
We also found a video report by News18 Punjab from February 24, 2020, which also included similar footage of Bishnoi in the Fazilka court. Bishnoi was produced in front of a Bench in the Fazilka court for a hearing, and had been acquitted by the judge of the charges in that particular case.
We could not find any report of Bishnoi being released on bail in November 2025.
To sum up, the viral clip featuring Lawrence Bishnoi is from 2020 and was shot in Punjab. As of November 26, 2025, he is lodged in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat.
In a related development, a special anti-gangster task force of Punjab Police claimed to have foiled “a major terror plot” on Wednesday, November 26, by arresting four operatives linked to Goldy Dhillon of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, following a fierce exchange of fire on the Derabassi – Ambala Highway near Chandigarh. The arrested were identified as Harvinder Singh alias Bhola alias Honey, Lakhwinder Singh, Mohammad Samir and Rohit Sharma.
