A video circulating widely on social media claims to show a Muslim woman being repeatedly struck with a slipper, with the assailant mockingly saying “Good morning” between blows.
Several users have shared the clip alleging that it is from Delhi, and that a Hindu employee assaulted his Muslim colleague, who was observing a fast, to wake her up from drowsiness.
X user named @GBX_Press posted the viral clip, writing: “A fasting Muslim woman felt sleepy at work, so a Hindu manager hit her with his slipper.” (Archive)

Another X user, @sahabnews1, also posted the viral video, claiming that it showed a Muslim woman observing a fast being harassed by her Hindu male colleague. At the time of this article being written, the post has gathered more than 2 million views, and has been re-shared on X more than 1,000 times.
Several other users on X, like (@Intl_Relations0), (@MrHoby1), (@pathan_sumaya), (@WhoAhmadRajput), also posted the video with the viral claim.
The video was also viral on Facebook with similar claims.

Fact Check
To verify the authenticity of the viral claim, we broke it down into keyframes. A reverse image search on one such keyframe led us to this Instagram reel, uploaded on March 19.
The caption of this reel indicates that the incident took place in an educational institute.
Thereafter, we went through the viral clip thoroughly. On zooming in, we noticed that the watermark in the bottom-right corner of the viral clip was legible. It refers, in Hindi, to one “Commando Academy.” A text banner is situated next to the logo, which indicates two phone numbers as contacts for new admissions.
Taking cue from this, we ran a relevant keyword search, and came across the website of Commando Academy, a coaching institute based in Jaipur that guides students for admission to defence and police services.
We could ascertain that the logo of the institute matches the one attached as a watermark in the viral clip.
We also came across the Facebook profile of its founder, Veerat Choudhary. On going through his profile, we found the original video, which has recently gone viral across social media platforms. It was originally uploaded on February 13.

Alt News contacted the academy and an official confirmed to us that a student was sleeping in the library and “Veerat Sir would often take rounds and wake up dozing students in that fashion.”
We also found a clarification video posted by Veerat Choudhary on the Instagram page “v.c.a.kuchamancityi” where he clarified that it was a male student whom he woke up. “He is a boy from Haryana…. He was sleeping during study hours? Should I have pampered him and woke him up gently.. saying ‘please wake up’? Had I gone soft on him, would he not have fallen asleep again…?

In conclusion, the viral video does not show a Muslim woman on a fast being heckled in office. It is from a defense and police training institute in Jaipur and shows a teacher waking up a male student.
