TEN-YEAR-OLD IMAGE FROM GAZA

Alt News reverse-searched the image on Yandex, and found a report on a website www.radikal.com published on January 3, 2010. The description posted along with the photo states that nothing had changed in Gaza a year after Israeli forces had bombed the region on December 27, 2009, and that children were affected the most by the Israeli assault.

This photograph was posted on a website, brotherpeacemaker, on February 12, 2009, along with other images of the attack in Gaza. The photograph was also published in Time magazine, wherein it is stated that the picture was taken at Gaza, with the description, ‘A woman hangs clothes on the balcony of her bullet-ridden apartment building.’

Thus, a photograph from Gaza, which is at least ten years old, was shared on social media with the false narrative that it represents the current condition of Kashmir.
