An image of Congress leader Alka Lamba was shared on social media with the claim she was campaigning for her party by sporting its election symbol on her t-shirt. The photograph shows a supposed imprint of a ‘hand’. A Twitter user took at jibe at Lamba for using “obscene campaigning” methods.

A few more people on Facebook and Twitter shared the same image with a similar narrative.

Fact-check

Alka Lamba took to Twitter and called out the image saying, “जाहिल घटिया अंध भक्त मेरी एक फोटो के साथ छेड़छाड़ कर अभद्रता फ़ैला रहे हैं (Illetrate blind bhakts are making indecent comments by tampering one of my photos -translated)”.

A Google search of the image revealed that it was photoshopped with Congress’ election symbol in place of the Indian national flag. Lamba had tweeted the original image on August 15, 2019.
