Amid the recent operational meltdown of IndiGo airlines, a video surfaced on social media featuring Union civil aviation minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu dancing on stage. The video was compared to a picture of stranded passengers at airports, accompanied by the caption “India deserves better!!” Many social media users have pointed out that Naidu appeared to be in a celebratory mood while citizens were suffering due to mass cancellations of IndiGo flights.

On December 7, a user named Suraj G Naik shared the video on X, suggesting that the aviation minister was more focused on dancing and entertainment than on managing the crisis.

The post received approximately over 400,000 views.

Another user, Pritam Kothadiya, shared the same video, alleging that the aviation minister had chosen to participate in the Bigg Boss 19 finale to showcase his dancing skills rather than address the issues faced by citizens during this crisis.

Several other social media users also amplify similar claims while sharing the same video. A few of them can be seen in the gallery below.

Fact Check

We conducted a simple keyword search that led us to a post dated July 29, 2025, from the official X account of ETV Andhra Pradesh. The post featured the caption, “Ram Mohan Naidu’s dance at a wedding reception,” and included a link to a YouTube video.

The YouTube link directed us to a news bulletin showcasing Naidu performing a dance on stage. The visuals in the video perfectly match those of the viral video. The time stamp for the relevant footage is from 0:34 to 0:46 minutes. Watch below:

The video description indicates that Naidu participated in the wedding celebrations and danced during the sangeet ceremony for his uncle Prabhakar’s son, which took place at a resort in Bhogampur, Vizianagaram district.

We also found coverage of the minister’s dance from other local news outlets, such as ABN Telugu, Prime9News, and hmtv Telugu News.

Also, there are no media reports of the aviation minister performing at the grand finale of BiggBoss 19, which was held on December 7.

To sum up, the viral video of Union civil aviation minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu dancing on stage is actually four-month old. The claims made by certain social media accounts suggesting that he was celebrating  while Indigo flyers were suffering are baseless.
