A video of BJP Delhi leader Kapil Mishra attending an event where he gets into an argument with one of the speakers has been shared on social media. The speaker manhandles Mishra in a fit of rage. It has been claimed that Mishra was beaten by BJP workers. Congress member Zakiya Khan drew close to 5,800 likes for the video and over 64,000 views.

Among the Facebook search results of the viral video were posts from 2018, proving that the incident is not recent. The video below was posted on November 29, 2018.

We found an Amar Ujala report from the same date according to which the scuffle broke out when East Delhi Municipal Corporation Mayor Bipin Bihari Singh was supposed to inaugurate a community centre constructed in the Shri Ram Colony area of Karawal Nagar on November 28, 2018. A scuffle broke out between Mishra and Haji Ballu, father-in-law of a local councillor.
Kapil Mishra had shared a post about the incident on November 28, 2018. The post carried an article by Dainik Jagran. According to Mishra, AAP filed a complaint against him alleging that he occupied the stage during the inauguration. This was denied by Mishra. He also said that he and the people accompanying him were not involved in the scuffle.

A video from three years ago was therefore shared with the false claim that Kapil Mishra was beaten by BJP workers. The scuffle was between Mishra and AAP workers in November 2018. It must be noted that Mishra was suspended from AAP in 2017. He joined the BJP in August 2019.
