A video is being widely circulated on social media with a message targeting the Muslim community in India. The video depicts a Muslim man being questioned by a TV anchor regarding the number of children he has fathered. The man’s wife and children can also be seen in the video. The man responds by saying that he has fifteen children.

The video has been shared by several Twitter users that the primary reason for the “lack of jobs for Hindus” in the country is the growing Muslim population.

It is also circulating on Facebook.

Fact-check

We noticed the logo “Leader TV HD” on the video. Taking a hint from this, we found the Facebook page of this news and media website. The original video dated April 11, 2022, is uploaded on this page with a caption in Urdu that translates to, “Why do those who live in slums have more children?” The portion of the video that is presently being circulated on social media starts at 1:34 and ends at 1:59.

Furthermore, we found the official YouTube channel of “Leader TV HD” where the same video is dated April 11, 2022.

Upon checking the About section of the YouTube page, we found the location of the YouTube channel to be Pakistan.

We also checked the TV anchor Anee Faisal’s Facebook profile. She is a journalist based out of Lahore.

Thus, a video report from Pakistan is viral in India to target the Indian Muslim population.
