A clip from a podcast interview has been ding the rounds on social media. In the video, a woman is heard saying that she used to extort money from her boyfriend by brandishing a fake pregnancy test.

An X user named Deepak Sharma, who has been found spreading misinformation on multiple occasions, shared pictures of this woman and claimed that her name was Yaseefa. The user further claimed that Yaseefa admitted that she had got pregnant and then underwent an abortion. However while being pregnant, she collected her urine in a bottle, and when she ran out of money, she came up with false positive pregnancy test results and extorted him. (Archived link)

Another user shared a video of this incident claiming that a woman herself admitted that she extorted money from her boyfriend.

Several others amplified the same claim alongside photos and videos of the woman. (Link 1, Link 2, Link 3, Link 4)

Fact Check

Alt News noticed that a graphic at the end of the video had the names Sejal and Sourav mentioned on it.

When we performed another search based on this information, we came across another version of this video posted on Instagram on February 28, 2025. It was posted by a handle named Deep Maheshwari (crazy_deep07). According to the caption of the post, this story is fictitious and the woman’s name is said to be Sejal.

The full video from the podcast named One Bottle Down is also available on Deep Maheshwari’s YouTube channel. Scenes from the viral clip appear here between the 7:30 and the 7:50 mark. The woman’s name is mentioned as Sejal in the description and her YouTube channel is also tagged here.

To sum up, the claim made with the video in question is false. The woman featured here is named Sejal, not Yaseefa, and this content is also described as fictitious.
