Hostility between Iran and Israel dates back to the late 1970s but their confrontation was largely a shadow war involving proxy groups across the region. Tensions escalated in April 2024, when Iran launched its first direct missile and drone attack on Israel following an Israeli strike on an Iranian diplomatic facility in Damascus. The conflict entered a more direct phase in 2025, when Israel carried out major strikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites, triggering a short but intense exchange of attacks between the two countries.
To sum up, the viral video circulating online does not depict recent footage from Tel Aviv, and is not related to the ongoing conflict in West Asia. It has been available on the internet since at least June 2025.
