A video, seemingly CCTV footage from a shop, is viral on social media showing a man tossing a substance engulfed in flames inside the shop. A little girl standing inside the shop is caught up in the fire, and people around her rush to extinguish the flames. This video is being shared with claims that a Muslim man named Akram threw a petrol bomb at the shopkeeper.
A caption attached to the video frame says the incident is from Talala. Talala is a town in Gir Somnath district of Gujarat.
An X user named @NadeemSays_ shared the video claiming that a ‘jihadist’ had thrown a petrol bomb inside the shop due to some disagreements with the shopkeeper. Targeting Muslims, he also wrote, “Everything present on earth has been created by Allah, and the first right over it belongs only to Muslims”. (Archive)

Fact Check
To find out more about the incident, we conducted a keyword search that led us to a news report by The Times of India from October 11, 2025 which talked the incident from Talala.
According to the report, Ashwin Thummar, a resident of Akolvadi village in Talala taluka in Gir Somnath district of Gujarat, had filed a complaint of attempted murder against an individual named Karan Boricha, for setting fire to a bottle of inflammable adhesive liquid and throwing it inside his paint shop on the Talala-Sasan Road, which caused injuries to his 4-year-old daughter.
The incident took place on the evening of October 10, when Boricha wanted to return “a bottle of solution used to enhance the adhesion of paint.” But Thummar, the shopkeeper, refused to take it back, as the seal of the product was not intact and the product was flammable, the report says.
This refusal angered Boricha, and he set the bottle ablaze and tossed it inside the shop. The little girl, who was standing inside the shop, was grievously hurt. Thummar and others extinguished the fire.
We contacted Talala Police to gather more information about the accused. Confirming the case, an officer from Talala police, who did not want to be named, told Alt News that incident had no communal angle to it. He said, “The accused is a Hindu. His name is Karan Boricha. There is no communal angle to the incident. All such claims are false.”
“The confusion arose from the fact that Karan is also locally known as Akram since his mother is a Muslim and she calls him by that name. However, he and his father are Hindus by faith,” the officer told Alt News.
So to sum up, the man seen throwing an inflammable substance into a shop is not a Muslim. His name is Karan Boricha. And there is no communal angle to the incident. Also, the object he had thrown was not a petrol bomb, but a container of inflammable adhesive.
