Photos of Mira Nair and young Zohran Mamdani with Epstein, Clinton & others are AI generated

After the US Department of Justice released around 3.5 million pages in compliance with the Epstein files transparency act on January 30, 2026, an email was retrieved that mentioned Indian-American film director Mira Nair, who is the mother of New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Soon after this, several images of Nair along with a child attending multiple events with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein started making rounds on social media. Several users claimed the child in the photo was Mamdani.

American actor Michael Rapaport (@MichaelRapaport) shared an image in which Mira Nair can be seen standing along side Bill Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein while holding a young boy. In the caption, Rapaport claimed the child was Zohran Mamdani. “Yeah.. read that again,” he exgorted. (Archive)

The post has garnered around 806,700 views. 

Another X user, Alex Jones (@RealAlexJones) shared two images. First is a collage featuring Epstein, Mamdani, a screenshot of the email featuring Mira Nair’s name and a picture of Epstein with a woman in a swimsuit holding an infant. The second image features Clinton, Epstein, as well as Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, standing with Nair and a young boy. The post included a caption claiming that investigations were underway to determine whether the reports about Jeffrey Epstein being the biological father of the current Mayor of New York City were true. The post has amassed around 2.1million views.

Another X account, A Gene Robinson (@AlBuffalo2nite), shared several similar images, claiming that “Zohran Mamdani was trained by the best of the best apparently.” (sic.) suggesting that Mamdani grew and was trained by Epstein, a convicted sexoffender. (archive)

The post reached 2.5 million views. 

Indian pro-BJP social media users, too, amplified the claim. Among them is the Hindutva propaganda account The Jaipur Dialogues (@JaipurDialogues). They shared a 16-second video featuring the images posted by Alex Jones, accompanied by a caption alleging that Zohran Mamdani was Jeffrey Epstein’s biological son, citing “sources.” 

This post has garnered approximately 85,000 views.

Another Right-wing user, Voices of Hindus (@Warlock_Shubh), shared the same video with a similar claim. 

This post has reached 2.2 million viewers.

Multiple other social media users have also shared these pictures, suggesting that the photos serve as valid evidence of Nair and her son’s close connections with Epstein and others. Some of these posts can be seen in the gallery below.

Fact Check

While carefully examining the pictures featuring Mira Nair and a young boy, we discovered a watermark, “DFF,” present in all of them. 

The clarity of the images also raised questions about their authenticity. A reverse image search led us to an account on X, named DFF (@DumbFckFinder), which describes itself in its bio as a parody account that creates “high-quality AI videos and memes.”

The detailed bio of the user, mentioned under ‘About’, states that they are “an AI-powered meme engine that turns stupidity into content.”

We found that all the images were originally uploaded by this account on January 31, 2026.

Additionally, in one post, the account admitted that the image was “purposefully made.” It stated, “Damn, you guys failed. I purposefully made him a baby, which would technically make this pic 34 years old. Yikes.”

To sum up, the viral images of Mira Nair supposedly standing with a young Zohran Mamdani alongside Jeffrey Epstein, Bill Clinton and others are fake. These images generated with artificial intelligence.
