A video that shows policemen beating an unarmed man with lathis is widely circulating on social media. It is being claimed that he is an ambulance driver who killed patients in Telangana’s Nizamabad Hospital by obstructing their oxygen supply because his source of income was transporting dead bodies to crematoriums. Several have claimed that the man’s name is Naseem.

Former Maharashtra CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis took cognisance of the matter and wrote a letter to incumbent CM Uddhav Thackeray on May 28. The New Indian Express reported that five cops – a sub-inspector and four constables – were suspended in Jalna after the video emerged in public. “The incident took place at Deepak Hospital here (Jalna) on April 9 when some people attacked doctors and went on a rampage in the ICU of the hospital after the death of a youth injured in a road accident,” the report added.

A story was manufactured that a Muslim ambulance driver was found murdering patients in a Telangana hospital by cutting off their oxygen supply. The false claim added that he did so to make money by transporting dead bodies to crematoriums.
