Fact Check

To verify the authenticity of this clip, we broke it down into multiple keyframes and ran a reverse image search on a few of them. This led us to a YouTube short posted by the channel Kanhaiya Singh shorts (@KanhaiyaSinghshorts) on August 16, 2025. This is the viral video.

Going through the videos posted on the channel, we found several videos with a similar premise featuring different women and men. Secondly, the man and woman in the viral clip appear in another video posted on this channel on September 1. In this clip as well, the woman says that she and her father-in-law have entered a relationship out of their own will and she is pregnant with his child.

The channel also has a similar video featuring a different woman, with very similar makeup, telling the interviewer that she has married her father-in-law and chooses him over her husband. This same woman also appears on another video, in a different setting and donning a different role.

All these findings suggest that these are scripted videos.

To confirm this, we checked the Instagram page linked to this channel, by the username, @kanhaiya_singh55. The user has categorised the page as ‘Reel creator’, and some of the videos which appear on the YouTube channel also appear here. We found one video, posted on January 4, where a man and woman can be seen together, seemingly just married. The video’s original audio isn’t available.

This video was viral in January with its original audio, where the woman claims that she has married her own brother. Alt News had fact-checked this video at that time and had found that the video was scripted. We had tracked down the Facebook page of the user Kanhaiya Singh (Kanhiyakashyap02), where a longer version of this clip had been posted, in which a disclaimer was flashed, which stated: “This video is purely made for entertainment purposes only. This video has no intention to disrespect or defame based on race, colour, ancestry, national origin, ethnic group identification, age, religion, marital or parental status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression”. However, this video has now been deleted from the page.

We found several other Facebook pages bearing the same man’s face, Kanhaiya Singh, where similar videos featuring women in non-conventional relationships or in bizarre situations can be found.

From the above findings, it is apparent that the viral video is scripted. Since the creator has not included a disclaimer — it can easily mislead viewers into believing that it’s a real-life situation.
