This Refund Policy applies to donations made to Pravda Media Foundation (PMF), publisher of Alt News.
1. Donations are generally non-refundable. Donations are voluntary contributions that are applied to support our journalism, and as a general rule they are non-refundable.
2. When we will consider a refund. We will review and, where appropriate, refund a donation in cases of: (a) a duplicate transaction; (b) an incorrect amount charged due to a technical error; (c) an unauthorised or fraudulent transaction; or (d) a double charge caused by a payment-gateway error.
3. International payments. PMF accepts donations only in INR from Indian donors and is not registered under FCRA. Any payment identified as international is automatically refunded in full, and no 80G receipt is issued for such a payment.
4. How to request a refund. Email donation@altnews.in within 7 days of the transaction, including the Razorpay payment/transaction ID and the reason for your request. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–7 business days, subject to processing times of banks and Razorpay.
5. 80G receipts. If an 80G tax receipt has already been issued for a donation that is later refunded, the receipt will be treated as cancelled/void in accordance with applicable tax law.
