These Terms and Conditions govern donations made to Pravda Media Foundation (“PMF”, “we”, “us”, “our”), publisher of Alt News, through our donation platform at contribute.altnews.in and related pages on altnews.in. By making a donation you agree to these Terms.
1. About us. PMF is a company registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 (a not-for-profit company), and is registered under Sections 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Registered office: 1008/1009, Satyamev Elite, Near Vakil Bridge, Opposite BRTS Bus Stop, Ambali, Daskroi, Bopal S.O., Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380058, India.
2. Nature of donations. Donations are voluntary contributions that support independent journalism and fact-checking. They are not payments for any goods, products, or services, and do not entitle the donor to any product, service, membership benefit, or any influence over editorial content.
3. Eligibility. Donations are accepted only in Indian Rupees (INR) from Indian citizens using Indian payment instruments. PMF is not registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA) and cannot accept foreign contributions. Any payment identified as international will be refunded in full (see our Refund Policy) and will not receive a tax receipt.
4. Tax exemption (Section 80G). Donations may be eligible for a deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. An 80G receipt and, after the close of the financial year, a Form 10BE certificate are issued to donors who provide a valid PAN, subject to applicable law.
5. Payments. Payments are processed securely through our payment partner, Razorpay. We do not store your card details. Sensitive information such as your PAN is encrypted. Your use of the payment gateway is also subject to Razorpay’s terms and conditions.
6. Recurring donations. You may choose to make a recurring (monthly or yearly) donation. You can cancel a recurring donation at any time — see our Cancellation Policy.
7. Accuracy of information. You agree to provide accurate and complete information. Receipts and certificates are issued on the basis of the details you provide.
8. Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page is the current one.
9. Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
