Ad film shooting clip viral as visuals of violence from Israel-Palestine conflict

Against the backdrop of the Israel-Palestine conflict that has now escalated into a war, a 20-second clip has surfaced on social media that features a man with a bloodied face lying on the ground. In the video, a few other men can be seen carrying cameras.

Acción y Comunicación sobre Oriente Medio – ACOM (@ACOM_es), which, according to its X (formerly Twitter) bio, is an independent organization in Spain promoting the relationship between Israel and Spain and fighting against antisemitism, shared the above-mentioned video on October 11 with a caption in Spanish that can be translated as: “Palestine, or the enormous industry of hate and lies. #Pallywood”. The tweet has received over 1.85 Lakh views and has been retweeted over 1,400 times. (Archive)

Fact Check

At first, we noticed that the video frame consisted of some text written in Arabic which translates to: “Behind the scenes of filming Zombie”.

We broke down the video into multiple keyframes and ran a reverse image search on a few of them. We found that the video was posted on TikTok by a user named Tamer Sayoud. We found Sayoud’s Instagram profile wherein his bio said ‘Film Director’. We found a few other reels on his Instagram profile that too carried the text ‘Zombies Dz’ similar to the video in question.

Alt News reached out to the user regarding the video in question and he responded by saying that the video was of an advertising performance and not related to Palestine.

Further, we came across another reel from Sayoud which seemed to be the final version of the advertisement. In the opening scene of the video, a man can be seen lying on the ground, the surroundings of which are similar to that in the clip shared by ACOM.

Hence, the claim that the 20-second clip of a bloodied man on the ground is from Palestine is false. The clip is a behind-the-scene shot of an ad film created by Tamer Sayoud.
