On January 11, former CBI director Alok Verma resigned from service a day after a high-powered committee led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to remove him from his post and transfer him to the post of DG, Fire Services. It has been shared more than 15,000 times.

No mention about the Prime Minister

Alok Verma had addressed his resignation letter to the Secretary of Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). A picture of the letter was tweeted by journalist Nidhi Razdan.

The text of the letter was also reported by several media organizations. An article published by Hindustan Times on January 11 also reproduced the letter, a copy of which is posted below. As can be seen in the letter below, at no point in the letter did Alok Verma refer to the Prime Minister.
