A photograph of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accompanied with a burqa-clad woman is doing the rounds on social media. Along with this, two more images of a woman who saved her male friend from police lathi-charge during anti-CAA protests in Delhi are shared to assert they are the same people. The claim hints that anti-CAA student protests are a Congress conspiracy.

(Rahul Gandhi was seen with this Jihadin, who was saving a stone-pelting protester from the security personnel and also profanely cursing them. Seeing her photo with Rahul Gandhi one thing is clear: that the protests are completely planned and the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party are in cahoots. Today the entire country is seeing how many traitors are there amongst us -translated)”.

NOT THE SAME WOMEN

We cropped out the stand-alone photograph of the girl seen with Rahul Gandhi and performed a Google reverse image search. It revealed that the girl’s name is Safa Febin, a 17-year-old student at Karuvakundu Government Higher Secondary School in Malappuram, Kerala. Gandhi was at the school to inaugurate its new science lab. The girl translated Gandhi’s speech after he threw an open challenge to the 4000 students to translate his English speech to Malayalam.

On the other hand, the other two images pertain to a crackdown on Jamia Millia Islamia University students who were seeking refuge inside a house at Jamia Nagar. In an interview with Mojo Story, journalist Barkha Dutt spoke to the JMI women and identified them as Ladeeda and Aysha.

In conclusion, photographs from two different scenes were shared in the wake of the police crackdown at the Jamia Milia students to write-off the protests as a Congress-led conspiracy and a politically-motivated gimmick.
