As farmers from Haryana extend support to the protests against the farm laws led by Punjab farmers, a video featuring a group of people singing songs in praise of Prime Minister Modi is circulating online. It is being claimed that the video shows the Jat community of Delhi.

Twitter user @RohitSh66826008 posted the video. More than 450 handles retweeted it at the time of writing.

The video is also widespread on Facebook. One version posted on the Facebook page ‘Bol Panipat’ racked up over 2 lakh views at the time of writing.

Old video

Alt News performed a keyword search on YouTube with ‘जुग जुग जियो नरेंद्र मोदी’ (Long live Narendra Modi), the chant being repeated in the video. This led us to another version of the same clip from January 11, 2020, on a YouTube channel titled JMV INDIA. No other information has been provided about the clip. However, we do know that there were anti-CAA-NRC protests held across the country, including in New Delhi, when the video was posted.

Alt News was unable to find the original clip. However, the people in the video mention the abrogation of Article 370 and the Ram Temple verdict. This indicates that it must have been shot sometime between September 2019 and January 2020.

Facebook page ‘Bol Panipat’ streamed at least a year-old video live to give a false impression that it depicts a recent incident. The video doesn’t show Delhi’s Jat community coming out in support of PM Modi.
