A seven-second video is doing rounds on the social media, where TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee allegedly threatens to assault BJP supporters once the Opposition Bloc, INDIA, comes to power.
In the viral clip, Banerjee can be heard saying, “Je dinke Mamata Bandyopadhyay aar INDIA Alliance er Sarkar hobey nah, baritey dhukey maarbo”. (The day Mamata Bandyopadhyay and INDIA Alliance’s government is formed, we will enter (their) houses and beat (them).”

Trinamool national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee was assaulted by a mob while he was on his way to visit the family of a TMC worker allegedly murdered by BJP activists in Sonarpur, on May 30. Once video clips and news of that incident started surfacing, this video, where Abhishek Banerjee is apparently seen threatening his political opponents, also started to gather steam.
The same X user, Gourab, posted this video while commenting to an X post by TMC spokesperson Tanmoy Ghosh on May 30 condemning the attack on Abhishek Banerjee.

Many other social media users across various platforms also started to share the video in question, making it go viral.
Fact Check
A simple reverse image search using a few keyframes of the video led us to an YouTube shorts posted by the Bengali News Channel R Plus.
The clip is from one of Abhishek Banerjee’s election rallies in Malda. On that day he campaigned for the TMC candidates of Harishchandrapur and Chanchal in Malda district.
In this 2.23-minute-long video, Banerjee claims that people sitting in Pakistan and Bangladesh threatens to destroy Delhi and Kolkata, while BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah sits idly. He further alleges that Pakistani defence Minister Khwaja Asif Muneer himself threatened to destroy Delhi and Kolkata.
Then he went on to say, “I am writing down Khwaja Asif’s name. The day Mamata Bandyopadhyay and and INDIA Alliance forms government, we will target him in his own house”.
This part of the speech can be heard between the 28 second to 38 second-mark in the video. In the now viral clip, the first part of the statement has been cropped out.
Furthermore, Abhishek’s threat to the Pakistani Defence Minister was also covered by Bengali News portals and news channels like Ei Samay and ABP Ananda.
Thus it is evident that a portion of Abhishek Banerjee’s speech is now getting viral with the false claim that he threatened his political opponents.
