After a special executive magistrate court released CJP leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka on October 11 after a one-day preventive detention, several pro-BJP social media handles claimed that the trio had been granted bail on the condition that they would not take part in any protest for a period of one year. Those making such claims included retired Major Manik M Jolly, Right wing Wire, and BJP-supporting troll handle RiseOfBurnol.
Subsequently, a copy of an alleged bond began circulating on social media, bearing the name of Abhijit Dipke and the seal of the executive magistrate of New Delhi district.
It was claimed that this Dipke had signed the bond at the time of his release. BJP leader Radhika Khera shared a photo of the said bond while quoting an X post in which Dipke had claimed that he had not signed any such bond.

Sharing this picture, Facebook user Riju Dutta, who claims to be a ‘politician’, took a dig at Dipke, remarking that these people are supposedly revolutionaries.

Several users shared the same image on social media platforms.
Fact Check
We first checked Delhi Police’s official X handle. In their post, Police stated that Deepke, Ranka and Das were placed under ‘preventive arrest’ on October 10, 2026, and were produced before the SEM Court, Delhi Cantt, on October 11, 2026. “A bond of ₹50,000 was furnished to ensure the maintenance of peace and good behavior for one year, and the Special Executive Magistrate Court released them.”
Preventive arrest u/s 126/170 BNSS of Sh. Abhijeet Dipke, Sh. Ashutosh Ranka and Sh. Saurav Das was done on 10.10.2026. All due legal procedures were followed and they were produced before the SEM Court, Delhi Cantt on 11.10.2026.
A bail bond as Surety Bond of ₹50,000/- was filled for maintaining peace and good behaviour, for a period of one year, and they were released by the SEM Court.

Nowhere in this police statement was it mentioned that their release was conditional on Dipke or the other leaders not participating in any protest for one year. There is also no mention of Dhruv Rathee in the statement.
In other words, police did not state that Rathee was required to sign a bond. The YouTuber himself refuted the viral claim on his X account, stating that he did not sign any bond or undertaking to secure his release.
I did not sign any bond
I did not sign any undertaking
I did not sign any condition for releaseFor all the media houses ^

Examining the viral document clearly, we noticed several discrepancies:

- According to the police statement, the three individuals were produced before the special executive magistrate (SEM) court, Delhi Cantt, on October 11, whereas the alleged bond bears the date of October 10.
- The SEM Court falls under the South West district of Delhi, while the alleged bond mentions the New Delhi district.
- The spelling of “Satyamev Jayate” in the center of the Executive Magistrate’s seal on the alleged bond is incorrect.
We checked the image using OpenAI’s ‘Verify OpenAI-generated content’ tool, which revealed that it was created with the help of AI.

Advocate Sautik Banerjee, who appeared for Deepke, Das and Ranka in the SEM court, told the media that the magistrate had not imposed any conditions on them. They were released on a personal bond with one surety.

Speaking to Alt News, Banerjee explained, “Breach of peace refers only to activities that are not sanctioned by the Constitution and do not enjoy protection as fundamental rights. If the Constitution grants the freedom of speech and expression, the right to form associations and hold assemblies, or the freedom of movement, then restrictions can be imposed on these rights only within the scope of ‘reasonable restrictions’ that are rational. As the Supreme Court has repeatedly stated, peaceful protests are permitted, and one is always free to organize or participate in them; this cannot, under any circumstances, be considered a breach of peace.”
Sautik Banerjee sent us a bail bond format from the special executive magistrate (West District), Delhi, which looks entirely different from the document in the viral image.

Overall, the claim that Sourav Das, Abhijit Deepke, Ashutosh Ranka, and Dhruv Rathee were released on the condition that they would not participate in any protests for a year is false. Furthermore, the image of the bail bond bearing Abhijit Deepke’s name, which was shared by several individuals, including BJP leader Radhika Khera, was generated using AI.
