“Farmers of Bengal, extending their gratitude towards Hon’ble Prime Minister,” tweeted Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) West Bengal President Dilip Ghosh on October 7. Ghosh claimed that the picture featured in his tweet was taken at Puntor village of Kumarganj assembly (Dakshin Dinajpur).

Old picture from Bihar

A simple reverse-image search takes one to Outlook photo gallery which says that the photo was shot in Kaimur district of Bihar ahead of the state assembly polls. The image is dated July 12, 2020.

An old picture from Bihar was therefore used by BJP WB President as farmers in West Bengal extending support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the wake of massive protests by farmer groups against the centre’s farm legislation.
