A video of a parliamentary speaker delivering a critical speech on Prime Minister Modi and his policies is being shared on social media with the claim that it is from Nepal. “नेपाल के सांसद महोदय मोदी जी की तारीफ के कशीदे पढ़ते हुए बहुत छवी है विश्व में भारत के पीएम की शर्म से सिर झुक गया,” is the viral Hindi text. Several Twitter and Facebook users posted the video.

Twitter user @Prin_313 post gained 3,000 views.

Facebook user OM Meena posted this video on the Facebook group ‘Dr. Kanhaiya kumar’ which has over 5 lakh members. This video has been shared close to 900 times.

Facebook user शिवाभाई अहीर‘s post gained over 10,000 views.


This viral video is not from Nepal. The man delivering the speech is Himachal Pradesh Congress MLA Jagat Singh Negi. Live Times TV uploaded the video on March 17. The official Facebook account of Indian National Congress – Himachal Pradesh also posted the video of his speech made in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

“Congress MLA Jagat Singh Negi gave a brilliant speech in Himachal Pradesh Vidhan on privatization. Jagat Singh Negi Targeted the Modi government for selling government companies. The Congress MLA opposed privatization in the Modi government,” reported Hindustan Live.

Negi had himself shared the video on his Facebook profile.
