With a keyword search on Google, we found a report published by India Today on July 21, 2020. According to the report, the video is from Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria district hospital. The report stated, “A viral video showing a six-year-old boy pushing a stretcher along with his mother to take his ailing grandfather from one ward to another in the adjoining Deoria district hospital in Uttar Pradesh has led to the removal of the ward boy as he allegedly demanded Rs 30 for every trip of the service.” Chedi Yadav, a resident of Gaura village of Deoria’s Barhaj area, was admitted to the surgical ward of the hospital after he got injured. Yadav’s daughter informed that the ward boy was demanding Rs 30 each time for taking her father for dressing. She said that when she refused to give the money to the ward boy, he refused to push the stretcher hence, she had to drag it with the help of her son.

According to a report, Deoria District Magistrate had visited the hospital and met Yadav’s family. A joint probe panel was set up under Sadar SDM and assistant chief medical officer of the hospital. They were asked to submit their probe report as soon as possible, said the report. A video statement by the DM has been posted below.

Aaj Tak had also published a video report on the incident on July 20, 2020. The video also includes a statement issued by Yadav’s daughter.

Therefore, a three-month-old video from Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria district of a young boy along with his mother pushing the stretcher of her father is being circulated with the false claim that the incident was from Bihar.
