A video depicting a woman dancing in a car to the tunes of a Bhojpuri song has gone viral on social media with users claiming that the woman is Shreyasi Singh, the BJP MLA from Jamui constituency in Bihar.
On X (formerly Twitter), user @MdShadabFarooqi has posted the video with the caption, “This is Bihar BJP’s Jamui MLA Sreshi Singh. Whose video is going viral fast” The post has received over 4365 views, 118 likes and 96 retweets. (Archive)

A Facebook user named Mukesh Babu had shared the video in 2022 with the caption, “ये बिहार के जमुई #भाजपा विधायक Shreyashi Singh …कैसे कमर पे भाला चलवा रही है।” The post received over 1,400 views and 142 likes. (Archive)

Fact Check
We broke down the video using Invid software and reverse-searched one of the key frames on Google. Although we could not find the source of the viral video, we found two similar videos (1 and 2) posted on Instagram in November 2022 by @pankajbihar789 and @saregamahumbhojpuri, tagging the official Instagram handle (@yaminisingh_official) of Bhojpuri actress Yamini Singh. Yamini Singh also commented on both the Instagram posts.
Both Instagram videos depict the actress wearing the same clothes and having an identical sticker on the car’s front windscreen which is also portrayed in the viral video, suggesting that the viral clip depicts Yamini Singh and not BJP MLA Shreyasi Singh.
We compared the visuals of the viral clip with one of Yamini’s pictures that was posted on her official Instagram page. This confirms that the viral clip depicts Yamini Singh.
According to a report published by Prabhat Khabar in January 2023, BJP MLA Shreyasi Singh filed an FIR in Gidhaur Police Station of Jamui district. The report added that Singh has stated, “I am always conscious of my responsibilities and work. I have nothing to do with such things. Such ridiculous videos on social media and other sites should be prohibited. An FIR has been lodged by my office. Further, it is the responsibility of the police to ensure that appropriate action is taken against such people in this matter.”
