A video of monkeys inside a hospital ward was shared by Pakistan-based Geo News reporter Murtaza Ali Shah as India on June 26.

Another Twitter user A_ZaibKhan had shared the video on July 13. “Modern Hospital in India where educated monkeys treating the patient,” read his tweet.

Several other Twitter users have shared the video claiming that it is from India.

Video from South Africa

A user shared a screenshot of an article by UK-based Daily Mail in a reply to Murtaza’s tweet. The article from March 29, 2019, said, “Monkeys have been terrorising patients at a hospital in South Africa, stealing food from sick patients who are forced to cower from them under their bed covers.” The video was shot at RK Khan Hospital in Durban, a “543-bed flagship hospital which was built on the site of a forest where the monkeys used to live.” The report also included a video of the incident.

South Africa-based eNCA broadcast a report on the incident informing that health authorities formed a task force to deal with the situation that had been going on for months.

Therefore, a video from last year of monkeys inside a hopsital in South Africa has been shared as India by Pakistani journalist Murtaza Ali Shah.
