Fact-check

We noticed that a user named Arun Deshpande had tweeted this clip, claiming a 33-year-old man from Bangalore died due to a heart attack, and other handles quote-tweeted this video as Sidharth Shukla. It is noteworthy that Arun Deshpande had tweeted this video on September 1 whereas Shukla passed away on September 2. According to Deshpande’s tweet, a 33-year-old man died of a heart attack after a workout at a gym in Bangalore. The video shows his final moments.

Apart from this, the footage is dated August 25, 2021, as seen in the video. This confirms that it is unrelated to actor Sidharth Shukla’s death.

While searching for this video on YouTube, Alt News found a NewsFirst Kannada report dated August 31, 2021. According to the report, a man suffered a cardiac arrest and died at a Gold’s Gym in Bangalore.

We contacted Gold’s Gym and a member of the gym informed, “First of all, the man seen in the video is not Sidharth Shukla. This man came to our gym for a one-day trial. Although he used to go to gyms earlier, this was his first time at this gym. Our staff took him to the hospital when his condition deteriorated following the workout. We are not aware of what happened afterwards since his family members had reached the scene by then.”

A man suffered a cardiac arrest after working out in a gym in Bangalore. The man was misidentified as Sidharth Shukla on social media. In a similar incident, footage of Dilip Kumar was shared online as his final moments after the actor’s death. Alt News discovered that this was actually an eight-year-old clip of Kumar and his wife Saira Banu.
